Town of Bergen celebrating its bicentennial on April 13th, 2013
Posted on 4:00 AM by Unknown
As the Bicentennial of the Town of Bergen approaches, the 200th Anniversary Committee is putting the final touches on the plans for the celebration. A ceremony will take place on April 13th, 2013 at Mount Rest Cemetery commemorating the formation of the town in 1813; the program will include the American Legion Color Guard, musical numbers by members of the Byron-Bergen Band, solo by Sonia Catalino, other community groups, the dedication of a town tree and time capsule, speakers, and tolling of church bells. The program will begin at 1pm. Special accommodations are being made for our Octogenarians to attend the celebration; please call Fred Ely at 494-1574 to make arrangements for a ride to and from the event. Commemorative t-shirts are being sold at the town and village offices during regular business hours for $10 each. They are dark green with the Bergen Bicentennial logo in white.
