Brockporter Thought For The Day - Hamlin Walker Morton combine into one fire district

As of March 1, 2013, the fire districts of Hamlin, Morton, and Walker have combined into one fire district according to Jerry Clement, the District Administrator of the new combined district in a letter to the Suburban News on March 3, 2013.

Brockport Village Trustee, Kent Blair, had speculated several months ago that Clarkson Supervisor, Paul Kimball's, threat two years ago to have Clarkson join in a fire district with Hamlin if the Village of Brockport did not turn over about 5 million dollars in assets to a then, proposed, Brockport Fire District may have been a bluff because Hamlin, with other plans, would not have welcomed such a plan.
