Judge Murante sets hearing on Castaneda's charges for April 19th

Ogden Town Justice David Murante called a hearing on April 19th to hear arguments in Brockport Mayor Connie Castaneda's case to determine if the criminal charges of official misconduct and falsifying business records were inappropriate and should have been dealt with as civil instead of criminal matters.

Murante refused to dismiss the charges as requested by Castaneda but did say that he is aware that such charges could have a chilling affect on government officials according to an article written by Kristina Gabalski in the March 3, 2013 issue of the Suburban News.
