I have been working on a project regarding the fences for the garden squares for Main and Market.
We are just starting to publicize the project and looking for donations. We have commitments for 3 squares so far. I will be hitting the sidewalk and looking for more commitments and then we will have our skilled and earnest welder / artist Michael Valente get started as soon as we have collected the bulk of the money.
All 25 squares that need to be fenced adds up to 25 x $450 / fenced square = $11,250. One is fenced already in front of Fountain of Youth Organics and we have commitments for 3 other squares. So we need funding for 21 which adds up to 21 x $450 / fenced square = $9,450.
It would be terrific if a group / family sponsors one square. Pro-Brockport is helping with the installation, planting and maintenance of the garden squares.
It is a tremendous project and will add incredibly to the appearance and enjoyment of our Downtown area.
