Brockport Mayor, M. Connie Castaneda annouces campaign for re-election under clouded circumstances

Posted on 5:17 PM by Unknown
From the Brockport Village Board meeting minutes of May 14, 2013:

Village Elections – Mayor Castañeda announced for the record that she is running for re-election as Mayor with a team of two others running for Trustee, Danny Blackburn and Richard Ross. Their party name is Taxpayers First.

Editor's note: Mayor Castaneda is still a defendent in a legal case in Judge David Murante's court in the Town Of Ogden in which she has been charged with 10 counts of official misconduct and falsifying business records. This case has been pending since March of 2012. It is unclear whether it will be resolved before the election on June 18, 2013.

Further, while Mayor Castaneda announced that she is running with two other people, Danny Blackburn and Richard Ross, in the Suburban News of June 2, 2013 there is an ad on page 3 for the Taxpayers First campaign and Danny Blackburn has been dropped and a woman named Telles is suggested as a write-in candidate for trustee.
