Long before we had the growing “killing of children in our schools” problem we had the school’s murder of emotions, affirmation, touch, and love. It is largely American School policy for no one to touch or comfort a child, to express love in any direct fashion, or act anything like a parent. Mostly the murder of caring or love is a victim of child abuse hysteria. It is apparently far better to eliminate all affection in case a rare incident of child abuse should occur.
In the clip linked below teacher Kaitlin Roig, 29, ushered her first-grade students to safety in a school bathroom as Adam Lanza unleashed his horrific attack at Sandy Hook. Roig guarded, protected, and cherished the students to keep them quiet and alive. They all heard the sound of gunfire and the kids were afraid and wanted to be home for Christmas. Roig came to believe that they were all destined to be killed. She wondered “What is a 6 or 7 year old thinking” and that “I almost have to be their parent, so I told them I need you to know that I love you all very much and It’s going to be OK” because she thought it was going to be the last thing they will ever hear. “I thought we were all going to die. And I don’t know if that’s OK, you know, teachers and…I wanted that badly to be one of the last things they heard, not the gunfire.”
